Argentina Missions

Puente a la Vida/Bridge to Life Church of Christ

Respectful of other established ministries, our purpose is to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the previously unreached. This young, self-supporting, self sustaining congregation was built through work with contacts from the radio audience, and people come from all around the city. Osvaldo Casati, Ramón Acosta and Jane Caldcleugh make up the ministry team, working in the areas of teaching, counseling and pastoring the flock. Our goal is to provide solid leadership training through solid leaders (2 Timothy 2:2). Emphasis is on serving and building unity within the body, helping members to identify and deploy their spiritual gifts, and bringing the body to maturity in Christ. We count on the collaboration of fellow servants and preachers who come in from different congregations to preach during the "Seeker’s Hour".

Bridge to Life Radio Ministry

Past: Alberto Pata, alumnus of the Institute for Christian Studies in Austin, Texas and the Haggai International Institute for Leadership Training created the Bridge to Life (Puente a la Vida) broadcast in 1986 as a five-minute spot airing on different AM stations in Buenos Aires. Since 1997 we have been airing on Radio Cultura, a secular FM radio station in Buenos Aires. This unique ministry makes a thoughtful, intelligent presentation of the message of the Bible couched in everyday language with practical applications, tailored to reach the average man on the street.

Present: Since Alberto passed away in 2006 after a long battle with cancer, Jane has continued to produce and direct the Puente a la Vida radio program, which has aired daily without interruption. Jane airs Alberto’s half-hour programs at 7.30 a.m. from Monday to Friday, and on Tuesdays at 9 a.m. Jane broadcasts an hour-long live program, Ahora es la Hora (Now Is the Time), with the participation of Hector Braga and Osvaldo Casati, among others. There is widespread confirmation and acceptance of the program on the part of the owner and staff of Radio Cultura as well as from the audience and the Christian community at large. You can listen to the broadcast in live time on www.fmradiocultura.com.ar.

Future: Plans are in place to continue working with radio evangelism and a teaching ministry over the air, vital in this South American capital city of 14 million souls. We are also working towards neighborhood outreach in our area as well as opening cell groups for teaching and outreach in different parts of the city.

In close proximity to several university campuses, we dream of a student ministry and the possibility of providing physical space where university students can have a center to come to between classes as well as access to Bible study and Christian counseling.
