Children
Children are an integral part of Christ’s family at Cole Mill Road Church of Christ. We provide classes for learning about the good news of Jesus and the Bible on Sunday mornings and evenings. On Wednesday nights, children’s activities focus on service to others. For children four years to third grade, a special Children’s Worship is provided during the regular Sunday morning services to give them an opportunity to praise God and learn about worship.

Other activities include Vacation Bible School, special holiday activities, and a Holiday Children’s Chorus.

The childrens ministry is lead by Greg Ridgon and the Childrens Ministry Team.

Children’s Sunday Worship
Children’s worship helps prepare children ages 3 – 3rd grade to be worshippers. It helps them understand how and why we worship. They learn what communion is, how and why we pray, why we sing; they learn about our relationship with God. This ministry helps children establish their belief in God. Ways members can and do help include:
  1. Developing curriculum;
  2. Writing puppet scripts;
  3. Assisting during Children’s Worship;
  4. Being a puppeteer;
  5. Being a storyteller; and
  6. Teaching and leading songs.

Chorus for Children
The Children’s Chorus gives our preschool- and elementary-aged children the opportunity to share special musical programs with the church family. The group generally meets for four to six weeks before a program event. Helpers (middle school through adult) learn the songs along with the children, serving as both musical and behavioral role models.

Children's Sunday Education: Toddlers - Elementary
Sunday Bible classes provide for our children lessons and activities designed to draw them closer to God and socialize them in the Christian way.

LTC (Leadership Training for Christ)
Leadership Training for Christ is a regional program for children and youth in grades 3 through 12. The goal of LTC is to promote the development of spiritual gifts through training in areas such as Song Leading, Scripture Reading, Daily Devotion, Service, Drama, Bible Bowl, Speech, Puppeteering, Art, Bulletin board, Signing for the Deaf, and more.

The LTC theme is integrated throughout the youth curriculum and training occurs during the Fall, Winter and Spring on Sunday evenings. LTC culminates on Easter Weekend with a convention of the Eastern Region (www.erltc.org). Congregation members are needed to serve as coaches, attend the convention, and encourage our children and youth.

Nursery
The nursery ministry cares for children up to the age of 18 months during Sunday morning worship. Along with keeping the nursery supplied with care items, this ministry maintains a schedule of those who would like to serve in the nursery. The nursery ministry provides an adequate number of adults and their helpers to care for the children.

Those who serve have the opportunity to get acquainted with parents and children of our congregation and the individuals who assist in this ministry. The nursery ministry provides a secure environment for our young children and is an example of the loving support we lend to one another. Adults and teens are welcome to join this ministry.

Teachers' Supplies / Workroom
This ministry serves those who teach. Prior to the teaching quarter, teachers prepare a "needs list" for supplies and an order is placed. Classroom supplies are checked and staple teaching supplies are ordered periodically so that the supply cabinets in the children’s classroom wing remain well-stocked.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a summer event, and it includes crafts, games, refreshments, and Bible stories. Our children and their friends learn more about God and enjoy being with other children. Our 2004 VBS will be held at our church facility.
