Church Calendar
These ladies maintain the church events calendar. Church members contact either Susan or Anita with a proposed date for a church activity, which helps to prevent scheduling conflicts and double-booking of our church facilities. Our church van use is also reserved through Anita or Susan.

Church Retreat
Periodically, Cole Mill offers a congregational retreat - a sort of a "spiritual get-away" during either the Fall or Spring. It is a time of Christian fellowship and spiritual renewal away from the daily bustle, and it is open to everyone in the congregation. The activities usually extend from Friday evening until Saturday evening, with flexibility regarding arrival and departure. Traditionally, we have tried to make the retreat "family friendly," having families share in the activities together, rather than separately according to age.

Members can serve in many ways, including:

  1. Making camp reservations and cabin assignments;
  2. Theme and activity planning. Includes planning devotional and fellowship activities, arranging itinerary, gathering materials needed for each activity, and getting volunteers to lead the activities;
  3. Food arrangements (usually Friday evening snacks, Saturday breakfast and lunch);
  4. PR to the congregation, including announcements in bulletin, written itinerary, map;
  5. Arranging transportation to and from the camp for those who need it;
  6. Financial arrangements for camp, food cost;
  7. Early arrival to help set up (if needed); and
  8. Clean up.

Chorus for Teens & Adults
The Chorus sings a cappella choral music to praise Jesus Christ and to serve in His name. The chorus sings annually at the Cole Mill Road Holiday Gathering.

Church Scrapbook
Sandra began this ongoing ministry in 2003. Archival information, photos and captions / descriptions of church activities, babies, building construction, leaders, ministries, annual events, etc. are collected for a "running history" of our church family. The scrapbook is displayed in our lobby.

Member Photo Display
Photos of our members are displayed in the foyer of our fellowship hall. This display is especially helpful to our new members and visitors.

Fall Festival
This annual celebration is held the last Saturday in October. Games and prizes are provided for children, followed by a cook out and talent show for everyone. It is a time of fellowship and lighthearted fun.
Ministry Leader: Susan Banks

Fruit Baskets
Each year on a Wednesday evening during the holidays, fruit baskets are prepared and delivered to some of our fellow Christians. Christmas carols are sung and the fellowship is rich. The recipients always are appreciative of the gift and the visit.

High School Graduation Banquet
Each year our congregation provides a meal and time of fellowship in honor of our youth who are graduating from high school.

Holiday Gathering
Each year on a Sunday evening near Christmas we have a special time together. Our adult and children’s choruses sing for us, and refreshments are served afterward. This is a time of joy and fellowship.

Ladies' Welcome Brunch
This is an annual September event and is for all our ladies. The brunch is given in honor of the women who are new to our congregation.

Prayer Ministry
This is a ministry of intercessory prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. Each week participants pray individually or by groups for those who have requested prayer, and for others who have special needs and concerns. Sometimes, notes are sent and calls are made to those prayed for.
Ministry Leader: Rita McKay

Spring Senior Saints Banquet
This banquet is held in honor of our older members. A meal, entertainment, and devotional are part of this annual event of appreciation for our older members who have given us so much.

Those who help have many opportunities:

  1. planning a menu and serving the meal;
  2. providing entertainment (children’s chorus or play; college, high school or middle school skits);
  3. making invitations and mailing them to honorees;
  4. providing transportation, and
  5. setting up, decorating, and helping with clean up.

Wednesday Evening Meals
On Wednesday evenings throughout the school year several members take turns preparing or purchasing (reimbursable) an entrée, side dish, or dessert for anyone who wishes to eat. (And, it’s a low cost meal! $2 for children, $3 for adults, maximum $8 per family.) Having a prepared meal is very convenient for many people and allows them to participate in Wednesday night activities that they might not otherwise be able to do. Cooking for others is enjoyable as is the fellowship of the meals. Anyone is welcome to sign up to prepare an entrée, a side dish, or dessert (typically for 65 – 100 people) once every five or six weeks.
