Cole Mill Road staff member Jorge Aguilera works with several others in our congregation in an outreach ministry to the growing Spanish-speaking community in Durham. A Sunday morning Bible class in Spanish began on January 25, 1998 here at Cole Mill Road, and a Spanish-speaking worship service is now held on Sunday morning as well. The group also meets on Wednesday evening at 7:00 for prayer and singing. Jorge, Jose Ramos, and Mike Teruel minister to Spanish-speaking inmates at Butner Prison.

Several opportunities for service are available for our members who speak Spanish as well as for those who do not. One such opportunity is ESL. Classes are held Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 at the church building. Adult students are taught the basics of the English language. Cole Mill Road members can help with this ministry in a number of ways, including assisting students in conversational practice, substitute teaching, and providing refreshments.
